Project goal

The Arbol Gallo Festival is a cherished tradition for many Guatemalan families, symbolizing the beginning of the Christmas season in the country. The Central American brewery, known for its Gallo beer, set out to create an impressive Christmas tree as a symbol of gratitude to Guatemalans for their loyalty and to instill the magic of the holidays in the hearts of the locals. The goal was to create an annual family-union event that transcends traditional advertising by offering a memorable and communal experience.

  • Our approach

    The project was implemented by Eshop, which utilized modern technology to bring this vision to life. The iconic Arbol Gallo on the Obelisco in Guatemala City stands 45 meters tall and 16 meters in diameter, adorned with 540,000 synchronized LED lights supplied by Twinkly. These LEDs were meticulously programmed to create a captivating audiovisual display synchronized to the rhythm of the holiday music. The installation process involved advanced techniques to ensure the lights aligned perfectly and the visuals seamlessly integrated with the musical performance.

The current installation on the Obelisco, standing 45 meters tall and illuminated by 540,000 LEDs, has become a focal point of the holiday season. Project Specifications

  • Submitting content

    Once mapped onto the tree, impressive video content was uploaded and installed using the Twinkly WebApp.

  • Group type

    The entire installation was managed as one large object using the grouping feature in the Twinkly app: Join.

  • Mapping type

    Due to the impressive size of the Christmas tree, Twinkly's Multi-view mapping was used, which scanned the tree from different locations to faithfully recreate the 3D layout.

  • DMX control

    Finally, the breathtaking show that attracted the attention of thousands of people was made possible by integration with the OSC system used in the control room.
